The first of four key components of our Worry-Free IT service program, Total Asset Management is our proactive and systemized approach to maintaining your office network. Malware Protection

Much like our Total Asset Management, the Malware Protection System vigilantly keeps watch over your network and connected devices. The system detects and alerts us of threats such as viruses, Trojans, rootkits, ransomware, and spyware. Most threats are eliminated automatically, but some require a human touch. When that happens, one of our technicians will remotely connect to your affected device and clear out the threat manually.

Protection round the clock – With real-time protection every file that is accessed is scanned instantly for potential threats. Your devices are protected the second we activate our Anti-Malware system on them.

USB Auto-Scan

Tackle the Shadow IT – Hooking up private devices to a USB port, such as smartphones and USB sticks, is common practice. Everyone knows that backups are important, but most people don’t have any backup system in place. Don’t feel bad if you’re one of the many who simply haven’t found the time to implement a backup solution. You aren’t alone, and Sherrod Computers is here to help.

Insurance Against Data Loss

Having a strong backup solution is the foundation of what you might consider “insurance” against data loss caused by disasters, attacks, system failures, or any number of variables. You might even have some form of “data loss” insurance bundled with your business insurance policy, but that’s not helpful if Peggy in Accounting accidentally deletes a file. Depending on the individual backup policies we’ve assigned to it, we can roll back Peggy’s computer (or your server) to a time before she deleted the file.

We don’t slap a generic policy on all of your computers like many others in the industry. We take the time to weigh the importance of the data against the performance of the device its on, and we create a custom policy to perform the most optimal backup for your specific needs. Here are some scenarios to clarify what this means:

Scenario 1: Your Office Manager, Jane, wears a lot of hats. She’s often working on multiple projects, files for which she stores on her computer. Due to her seniority, she also received a new, powerful computer in the latest round of office upgrades. In this scenario, Jane’s files are of high-importance, and her computer is powerful enough to handle a high-priority backup policy that runs a sync every 30 minutes. We know that her computer won’t become sluggish from the backup process, and we know that her backup is never more than 30-minutes old at any given time.
Scenario 2: Your Warehouse Manager, John, manages inventory through a cloud-based application via a web browser such as Firefox or Chrome. He also manages shipping and receiving through the UPS Worldship and FedEx Ship Manager applications. He only stores a few temporary files on his computer each day, but the profiles and policies in his shipping applications took a long time to set up and tweak to perfection. We also know from our Total Asset Management list that his computer hasn’t been upgraded in about five years. In this scenario, John’s files aren’t important, but his application settings are. His computer would most likely experience slow-downs if we ran a backup sync while he was working, so we establish a policy that runs just one daily backup after he clocks out each day.

Backup Unlimited Devices

While servers are getting backed up on a regular basis, endpoints, such as laptops, are often neglected. Data stored locally on those devices is at risk. Even if you have IT policies in place that require users to store sensitive data on a central server, relying on the user compliance is not the safest bet. Also, we give you the option to specify specific policies for each device on your system, which allows us to do things like running a recovery at file level with only the files you have selected.

Deployment

One or more of our certified, well-experienced technicians will visit your business to prepare a scope-of-work and begin preparing your office network with our protection and system health monitoring software.

Spring Cleaning

We will begin making reparations as needed to your network and its devices. The goal is to ensure your office network is running like a well-oiled machine so that you no longer experience down time or interruptions. In some cases, depending upon the state of the network and devices, we may need to discuss a more extensive clean-up before we can begin managing your IT assets.

Protection

Beyond the monitoring and anti-malware services, we will also create full backups for your servers and network devices, powered by the Award Winning Storagecraft ™ Shadow Protect. Sherrod Computers will also provide, at no additional cost, a local raid device, which we will use to store redundant backup data for extra protection against disasters.

Our Watch Begins

Once the on-boarding is complete, we will continuously monitor the health of all your devices with real-time alerts that let us know when there’s a problem. Most issues can be solved remotely from our headquarters – often before you notice any disruptions. However, for those issues which require a hands-on solution, we will come on-site to make the repair at no additional cost.
